Certified Financial Planner @ Rowland Carmichael
An Arizona native and Brophy College Prep alumnus, wealth manager Matthew Miller began his financial services career in 2001 after graduating from Santa Clara University, where he was a four-year starter for the Broncos’ Division 1 baseball team.
Returning to Phoenix, Matthew joined Miller-Russell & Associates, a Phoenix-based investment firm founded in 1991 by his father, Dennis Miller. It was there that Matthew began to see the power of fee-only independent financial advice and the importance of developing authentic relationships. A few years later, after earning the Certificate of Financial Planning, Matthew left Miller-Russell to join the money management firm Dimensional Fund Advisors, well known for its industry-leading ties to academia. At Dimensional he developed a deep knowledge of markets, security pricing models, expertise in regression analysis, and the importance of a wealth manager.
A year later, Matthew moved to Austin, Texas, to help launch Dimensional’s future headquarters. As a shareholder and vice president, Matthew wore multiple hats. His responsibilities ranged from developing and managing a large client service sales team to helping manage many of the firm’s major relationships. In the evenings, Matt also officially became a Longhorn, earning his MBA at the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business.
In 2013, Matthew left Dimensional to return to Phoenix, ultimately joining Rowland Carmichael Advisors, where he felt at home with our firm’s client focus, independence and collegiality.
